‘willie week’ series, part 4: all about “sessions”

Welcome! Today’s audio excerpt from the “Miltown Malbay” stop in our new hands-free app for motorists takes you deep into the shrouded social code and unwritten rules of etiquette of the seisiún (or, Irish jam session). Taking place this week in County Clare, the Willie Clancy Summer School is so overrun with impromptu seisiúns that they spill out of the pubs and into restaurants, homes, the street, campsites, and even the beach!

This excerpt features Harry Hughes, a founder of the summer school, and Jack Talty, composer, musician, and a teacher at Willie Week. Narrators are award-winning actor Iarlaith O’Conaire and actress Geraldine Hughes, with audio production by Audissey Media.

PS. And don’t forget to review Cultural Roadmapp in the App Store or Google Play to be entered to win an exclusive cultural gift direct from Ireland!
